Jazzin' Babies Featuring Rosy McHargue
Echoes Of Bix
Sealed 1985 Original Recorded On 2-Inch Tape At 30ips! The Legendary C-Melody Saxophonist Rosy McHargue, Who Had Turned 83 A Few Months Earlier, Teams Up With Soprano Saxophonist Dave Dolson's Jazzin' Babies For This Delightful LP. Some Of The Tunes (Such As "Big Boy," "Clementine" And "Tia Juana") Had Been Recorded In The 1920s By Cornetist Bix Beiderbecke; A Few Others Were From The Era, And The Title Cut Was A Then-Recent Original By Mchargue. Rosy's Beautiful Tone On C-Melody Sax, His Interplay With The Rest Of The Band (Which Also Includes Cornetist Dick Miller And Trombonist John Innes), And His Occasional Vocals Make This A Charming Set Well Worth Searching For." All Music Guide - Scott Yanow.
